Lies

I speak this lie
It's a daily one
Of just a few words
Answering the question:
"Did you take your meds today?"

I state simply:
"Yes of course."
But I haven't in days
And don't plan to
Unless I get forced

Then there are those who know
This little fact
They worry about me
Even though I say I'm fine
But even that is a lie
*
I wonder if anyone
Can really see the truth
I'm sure it is simple
For all it would take
Is a look into my eyes
*
I'm sure someone can see
Though this thick mask I wear
Because there are some times
When I'm not all alone
And someone is there

My lies are not perfect
And they never will be
At least one person
Will always see though
So I'll always have someone
To help me find the truth
