Butterflies

Butterflies rush all around
Creating wind as they move
A chill runs through my body
They explode in my stomach
Even at the mere thought of you

But then you are near me
And fluttering becomes flapping
These butterflies are now birds
Running rampant everywhere
Moving closer to my heart

And then we touch
What once was weak strengthens
The feeling seizes my heart
Joy warms me from head to toe
Then persists until we part
