On the Horizon

On the Horizon

A Poem by Arte Por Vida
"

About my mother. This is from the end(ish) of October 2012

"

Just words before
Now translating to action
You snore and snore and snore
And I just want to run

But I stay back
And try to make you move
Patience is something I lack
And you feel you have something to prove

Your poison is down the drain
Although you plead for more
I just try to stay sane
And prevent a civil war

I push the chair a bit
You mumble and shake your head
Like a child, you throw a fit
But you still won’t go to bed

Standing now and in my face
I put my hands up in defense
You step back but one pace
But the moment is still tense

Pushing me backward now
To the ground I almost fall
All I can think is “wow”
Because there was a dishwasher there-knives and all

I’ll stop the recap here
My point has been made
Every time you drink more beer
Your brain cells quickly fade

Abuse is on the horizon
I’m scared beyond my mind
I wish this would be done
Or your hands, a cop may bind
