A Chapter by Sam Baxter
"

The first poem I ever wrote down was this one. 8 Years ago, this is what I still remember as my first idea that sparked many a narrative.

"

When the time for man has come

The final battle will begin

Their Darkest hour

Their last chance

All they have is the Courage

The honour

The Duty.

Men and women who are willed

See no light

Only darkness,

Yet on the brink of extinction

They will be the last hope

Yet they aren't God's

They don't have any special powers

They only have the will of Iron

The Courage of stone

Honour of Bronze

It is with that,

They shall do their duty

And finally be at peace.

Only the Strong willed will survive

Not the strongest

Nor the Fastest

Nor the one with the biggest weapon

It is the one who has the will of steel

The one the most able to adapt

The one with the Courage,

the Honour

and the Duty.

These are the survivors.
