A Poem by Brad Baum

The sky stretches out, a never ending canvas,

Vividly painted with the last touch of vivacity

That would be provided on this turn.

The hills reach for the draining light, as the gilded figure

Releases its ever dying radiance into the abyss.

The stairway dims as the hand moves along,

Taunting the restless eye

That awakens with the passing of another.

The surf echoes in the distance,

Contained within your dwindling mental prism

As the orb slowly races towards the horizon,

Furiously gleaming as if a plummeting meteor

Streaking against the fainting light.

The mother encompasses the father,

As the lurking shadow falls on all.
