People

This is pretty much a description of many people I know, including myself.

The prettiest smile hides the deepest secrets. The prettiest eyes have cried the most tears. The kindest hearts are those who have felt the most pain. Their pain runs deeper than you could ever imagine. Their fear is stronger and greater than the Earth's gravitational pull. Their hearts have hardened to shut off the pain, yet have become kind to save others from going through what they went through. Their minds, no longer innocent, hardened to shut out pain and weakness, though their eyes tell all. You can never be sure that the person sitting next to you isn't one of these people. You can never be sure that they don't need you: your help, your friendship, your smile, your love. You can never be sure until you ask. Though they may not tell you everything, they might tell you just enough to help them. In their minds, you just listening to their story and at least trying to understand can help start the healing process in their heart. Sometimes you may find that the amount of tears they have shed is equal to the amount of blood they have shed to escape the pain, or at least trying to. Trying to help them may be all you can do, but you never know, you may eventually end up healing them completely. You can possibly even save their life.
