The mighty Australian Red river GumA Poem by B.JI have tried to gather the land, the trees, the life, that surrounds the rivers during drought and rainy seasons.Across the waterways they stand Mighty Red Gums, Through drought and rainy seasons, Whispers of wind, leaves rustle, Red gums sing and dance, when they know water is coming, The rivers rich red clay, define trees, Red river gums are surivours, Surviving the storms of life, Gnarled and weathered in time, With the noon day sun across the Cooper creek, To the Diamantina River, like a canvas, Waiting to be painted, the trees stand tall, Timeless Moments of day changes swiftly, From the desert, to the Mighty Murray River, Margaret and Swan river, To the Murrumbidgie river, Darling River, Snowy River, Many legends, are told of this land, For those that have lived in this land are timeless, Footprints are from the rivers to the desert, Stay briefly where water is found, Native to this land, branches of the Red gums Stretch across a river, dry or flooded, fish, crustacean creatures, Holding its arms open for birds, nesting, watching, waiting A snake may amble and slithers, searching for feed, Ants, insects, lizards all finding a home, In a River Red Gum © 2016 B.JAuthor's Note
