A perfect summer stormA Poem by B.JOne by one the clouds darkened The blue sky all but gone A perfect storm was approaching Rain had been falling Drizzle at first, trying to break The summer heat A few more drops start Moving across the windscreen Rain becomes heavier Creeks start swelling A perfect summer storm is approaching A clash of thunder in the distant hills The lights go out, the wind gathers more rain Flooding gutters, flowers flutter in the rain Oh! the steamy rain in the perfect summer storm A streak of lightening, sends branches falling Your heart skips a beat, as creeks begin to swell Like a devil shooting an arrow, the earth is now silent A dull grey sky covers the landscape Searching for a breath of blue sky Amongst the perfect summer storm Rain pelts against the windows Shredding flowers, though Drenching the parched ground As the storm passes There is a silence As though the sky has held it's breath The clouds roll faster each second Rain drops sit on the leaves, boldly Lightening, thunder rolls in the distant hills A battle song of summer in the country White clouds float now Blue sky sneaks a peak The earth has now revolved around A summer storm The earth has calmed The last fragments of the storm Hang in the morning breeze A silent breeze drifts in
