They are covered in glitter, street lights

Glowing Christmas decorations

All the colours of the rainbow

It's a wonderful time of the year

There maybe a cool gully breeze

As you walk the streets looking for Christmas decorations

Families together, walking young children smiling and happy

Joyfully looking at decorations

Families gather from all corners of the country

Basking in sunshine, glimmers of decoration catch your eye

Sparkling magic upon your heart, a web of magic to hold you together

Some put up a brave face

The times families get together

Once a year, masks worn to hide the pain

Still it's Christmas and it's a wonderful time of the year

Christmas in Australia is unique

Long lunches under the Eucalypt trees

Christmas tea under the stars and moonlight night

Music from around the world lights up the night

There are campfires across the outback

Bringing in the Christmas cheer

Brings Christmas to the isolated

Christmas as a child an all it glory

Was but a story for all to experience

When it was finally here

You knew because the plate was empty

Santa had been all the treats were gone

The kitchen was filled with aromas

Christmas pudding, roast pork, roast turkey

Ham and vegetables, a Christmas tradition

It was the most wonderful time of the year

Today traditions have changed

Cold meat and salad, Yuck

We can have that anytime of the year

Acknowledged Christmas

For  the reason we have Christmas

There is a special joy that went with Christmas
