When two oceans collide

When two oceans collide

A Poem by B.J
"

The collision of the Indian Ocean and the South Ocean of Australia has created some dramatic history in time

"

Reaching out upon a tide,
When two oceans collide
Frozen in time and tide
Shipwrecks battered and torn
On a tide, when two oceans collide

Monuments frozen in time
Return us to the depths of the ocean floor
As the blue wave beat the shore
When two oceans collide
Shipwrecks battered and torn
Dot a coastline, so rugged

Lives, both saved and lost
Along a coastline, so rugged
Monuments frozen in time
To lives, both saved and lost
Romance, within a chance

To lives saved
An isolated country
Survivors, flee to safety
Where two oceans collide
Stories are told by those
Monuments frozen in time

Romance beckoned survivors
On this corner of earth
Generations unfolded
Dictated by time and tide
On lands never seen before
Where two oceans collided.

Author's Note

B.J
I tried to create the romance of the ocean involving shipwrecks, romance, tide and time.
Augusta the southern most point of Australia is where the great oceans meet, it is such a dramatic sight to experience

I never thought about oceans meeting, because the Atlantic and the Pacific are at oppositends of the U.s. I'm sure it's a sight to behold.

Thank you so much for the comment and the visit, much appreciated
interesting rhyme scheme! is it a certain form or just the way you wrote it? i am not very well versed in rhyming and always interested to learn something new. I like the way you told the story. ..not sure what to think about using tide to rhyme with tide and collide with collide; i do however like the weaving of the two oceans throughout .. and Australia to me is automatically romantic .. its one of my dreams to visit :)

Liked that repeating line "monuments frozen in time" - there is a sense of vastness, of space in this poem that I find appealing. Well penned.

Thank you so much for your kind review
the Mediterranean is the only tame sea I know. one ocean terrifies me, let alone two clashing like Titans. but it must be quite a sight to behold.
very nicely penned indeed.

You have created some beautiful images with your words...so lovely. There is something magical about the ocean, the ebb and flow of tide - romantic..yes...dramatic..absolutely. A stunning poem!
