The Lord said "We are all the same,"
A word with a terrible history "Prejudice" And, I know, this is true So much hurt from uncaring, unthinking actions In our modern society,of free-spoken language The power of words, the power of language Hearts beat, around the world Like mine, and yours Our feelings are the same who wherever we are Like mine and yours So never underestimated the power of words Often used to abuse, oppress, and subdue They can be used to make mighty swords I often wonder what is happening to this world of ours Why can't we all take notice I'd like to say I do, and maybe other do too Prejudice Why can't we find respect and trust To help others along the way I think we are all entitled To do as others do We've seen the way people are treated And I feel for you I've often asked myself, "Why is there so much prejudice?" Because our skin is not the same Or what creed we follow Or who we are, man or woman Husband or wife I often ask "Why can't we just hold hands?" And call each other by name © 2014 B.JAuthor's Note
