Leaves of Change

The moment where you finally move on.

The leaves of change begin to fall.
Though your scent still lingers,
I'm finally losing you in my heart.
My feelings of gratitude will never fade,
Nor will they be forgotten.

The leaves of change begin to fall.
My life is changing indefinitely
And you are not to blame,
Nor to thank.

The leaves of change have fallen.
And I am here,
Not alone,
And not with you.

I like to be more direct than metaphorical in my writing. I'm not sure why, glad you noticed it. haha. Yes. Always better to be alone than with dead weight, in my opinion. Life is easier when you aren't dragging someone around with ya.
