The Oracle and The Crystal Ball

The Oracle and The Crystal Ball

A Poem by Rob Luciano
"

Life often hits us with hard questions that required even harder answers. What are your answers?

"

Will I leave my footprint
In the sands of time
Or will I wither away
with nothing left behind?

Will I continue to shine
even when it's bright?
Will you feel what I say
Even if it rhymes?

Would you be the same
if you'd never met me?
Or are you just setting up
so that later, you'll forget me.

Will I ever find the way
Am I already on the path?

Is there any return
On time spent looking back?

Will I ever be the same
if for some reason I was made
To drink  sorrow....

Tomorrow.

It isn't promised
But I promise forever...

It will always be better.

We all wonder what becomes of our personal importance in life once we've moved past said life, or past specific people and places. It's a deep question, "Will anything I've done, said, loved, liked, hated, questioned, worked, lived, died...will any of these things have made a difference once I've gone?"

Moving on without passing on is another way to view this question.

This is very simple, the writing of this question, but effective enough to make the reader see the folly in overstating his or her own importance in the big show that life is.

I like this.

Nothing technical about it, just straight-forward, straight-laced reason.
