Labyrinth

A Poem by PoetryofProvidence

Harps peel    like ballads on the wind

notes of love songs         like arias descend

to bath our hearts       with the highest adoration

reflections of your love     and its restoration

Granting a view        of majesty in our days

glimpses into the kingdom        and the life you'll raise

our love whose perfection     moved be we to seek

the tender hearts            bestowed upon the meek

So soft      aloft         as the finest down

a cushion of comfort             as a silken gown

polished like gems          found upon a crown

glory in your history            of the Son renown

Chosen and called       the formation of the Bride

exclusive     devotion           the reason Jesus died

to stand with him       upon the temple mount

counted precious              whom did the world surmount

Highly prized      a standard           of perfect measure

in the hearts of men        have poured eternal treasure

immersed by the  spirit           those you will disclose

every proven one      your own father chose

No longer live  among          the gravel and the rock

only you know the final         choosing of the flock

we only know our         preparations in the race

only those who finish            get to see your face

Fallen so many       into the web of lies

the religions dispensed        by angels in disguise

beloved Daniel           world kingdoms did you gaze

the war of the fallen       and of those of praise

We upon the footstool         can only see the feet

a world divided          iron and clay its seat

what will you find         when you regain the throne

those taking the rents      their devastations known

Upon the children        empty world and fallow

who know no majesty         or what they should hallow

into the labyrinth     and constructed maze

a dream land fog           of technological haze

Those days I think           I am truly fried

every quality that's good       and hid inside has died

a net and trap           seeking me to tease

the lure of temporary           happiness to please

And death the only          freedom from this war

to grasp at love        and hatred to abhor

a virtual war      of my flesh and mind

its unfortunate                  I am no longer blind

Fool was I          who prayed that I could see

and found out my own          nature lacks harmony

a thousand years     a solitary tree may live

to those I love           would die this them to  give

Job found himself          in a life defaulted

could not know     the lesson him exalted

every man           since our beginning broken

every prophet         of the perfect one has spoken

So while I acknowledge              my  own depth of flaw

it is  knowledge of the holy       one upon I draw

there is a righteousness            from him that I await

I desire it will        overcome a world of hate

My will to the common          wealth do bow

to cherish my family    on this earth anyhow

One Lord , one Love       to reign the earth supreme

plant in our hearts           the love you wish to bring

1John3 :1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
