Parents

A Poem by Josh

You lay there,
music blasting
head under your pillow
but you can still hear them
they are downstairs
fighting like always
sometimes about you
sometimes about them
sometimes about nothing
but they yell
they always have to yell
their voices echo in your mind
why can't they just stop?
Talk things over and relax?
No
they yell and fight almost every night
sometimes at you
they upset you and make you mad
its too much
too much to handle
day after day
over and over
so you return to the bathroom
the cycle repeats
the cuts get deeper, bigger,
you want it all to end
but the next day you put on your mask
and play it off that your are just tired
but its always more
 but it will end
eventually it will stop
soon
very soon
