A BitterSweet Revenge

A BitterSweet Revenge

A Poem by TACB

Revenge, a bittersweet human instinct

Bitter because of the way it’s achieved

Sweet because of the satisfaction

Bitter as medicine, or maybe more

One that’s vigorous and hurts evermore

Revenge is a bittersweet human instinct

Like the taste of candy for the first time

The fulfillment of her longing needs

Sweet because of the satisfaction

Hardwired to the human brain is to punish

She loves revenge as she wrongs the do’er

Revenge is a bittersweet human instinct

She has been cheated and has been left sour

Through emotional elegance she harms

Sweet because of the satisfaction

Revenge is what can make her whole again

To be angry is the faults of others on herself

Revenge, a bittersweet human instinct

Sweet because of the satisfaction.

Can we as humans every be free of the revenge instinct? Are even the most innocent of us,children, plagued by revenge? It is a good piece about something that is a part of what makes us human. What does it mean to get revenge or have vengeful thoughts?

I take it this is a very personal piece? either way it was nicely written and has a great sense of flow to it. my only suggestion may be to change up the usage of revenge for something else from time to time but it's still better than anything I can put together :)
