Equaling Steps to Seal Gaps

Equaling Steps to Seal Gaps

A Poem by Barbara Kasey Smith

I cling to Bob's waist trotting down the road
old Stella struggles to carry our load.
Year's boast youth and strength
Stella's legs has power to spend.
Time pockets youthful years
fraught with tribulations and tears.

A breeze moves orchard grass in fields
ghosts play tag and encourage a will.
Our love's strong as winds can exhale
lots of distress but passion never fails.
The oak tree waits in the wings
to spread our blanket to enjoy feelings.

Life has a way of equaling steps to seal gaps
soothing the heart and soul to forever last.
The oak tree has countless secrets stored
as we rest beneath sharing our scores.
Black crow's perch in branches above
watch lusts grow to share our love.

I cling to Bob's waist trotting down the road...
feel fancied as I carry a treasured load.
