New Perspectives

A Poem by Elizabeth

I am tracing the iridescent Road

under a shifting canopy of light,

under the opulence of soft spring air.

Cold dirt sprouting with tangerine blossoms,

bursting forth with vibrant clarity.

If there were a heaven, this would be it.

No worries,

I’m in another universe.

No worries,

the hallucinogen clouds dancing and light always.

This feeling is as potent as nature.

Always, always.

Can’t you feel the quickening?

My thoughts a thousand miles away.

I could swallow their universe--

all of their troubles as shallow as a washbasin,

their words as corrosive as septic tank cities.

I could put it all in a little box

in a corner

in my mind

where it would selfishly whine into the night.

I could tie myself to the wind

and blow away.

I could bathe in ripe eternity.

Without all of their heavy horrors

I am able to drift far away and high above

into endless dimensions

and fragrant summers.

Beautiful. Wondrous.
Captivating and Enchanting.
I can feel the wind whisking me away into this world even though I know it is just in the back of my mind...imagination taken full into a world.
Beautiful. I could my soul devoured and captured by the wonderful words and rhythm.

An awesome piece of writing... it is like a poetic version of the Matrix taking my mind on a twisted journey of life and how it can be seen so differently from the trillions of eyes around the world.

Holy s**t.....that was magnificent! That first stanza is a mind blower, I could smell that stanza from a mile away, tangerine blossoms and all. This had a very real quality to it, like road tripping with my best girl through her favorite thoughts and landing lightly so as not to leave any footprints. Very impressive.

I like the above lines. Complete poem was very good and told a interesting story. I like the ending a lot. Would be cool if we could do what you wrote in the poem. A excellent poem.
