Do you know what it’s like?
To be in love?
It’s like planting
The most frail, tiny flower
In a pot of your own.
You care for it
So deeply, so tenderly
You give it your all
To give it your life?
To know that if anything happened
Anything at all
That if you made a mistake
Did too little
Or did too much
That the flower would wilt?
That maybe you’d kill it?
That hurt in your heart
Is simply unbearable.
It feels like part of you even
Dies with it as well.
If you hurt someone close
Someone you love
And it doesn’t hurt back
