The Headless Ballarina

The Headless Ballarina

A Poem by Chirpy!
"

poem about a barbie in a ballarina dress and no head. Deleted the 2nd because I'm entering in the best of 2009 contest.

"

A headless myth

you stood there

Swaying to and fro

I asked you

Why surrender?

You answered with a fall

and where you stood

was nothing

You weren't there at all

Great opening line... Barbie, as a role model is definitely a myth, head or headless..
We do sway & fro from time to time but we can find strength, find ourselves and not fall into nothingness. Twirl on Ballerina!

I really liked the first one...the second one seems kind of abrupt. I agree with the other reviewer: the first one is haunting, but beautiful and very well written. Good job!
