A RoseA Poem by Jane BryanMay I ask you who you are and what you do Are you there to create an aroma around you To brighten the days of the souls passing by Or to act as a figment of imagination to one's eye
Some people do not notice but you surely take offense When you are stepped on, or hurt in a way with no self deffense A lot of young kids may take you in their loving grasp While other pick you up for their advantage and don't think to gasp
You are taken away in sets of one or possibly twelve Yet you know that this wouldn't happen if it were themselves Everyone seems to think of you in clusters or in a set I have always wanted you in one and I wouldn't ever bet
If people were given an eye for everything on your path There would be no hate, no lies, not a need for math Math couldn't calculate the beaty you bestow I know that you are too good that I can't think of something to owe
You mean more than everything on that special day Of love, peace, and giving to the ones cared for in that way Some may think you are nothing under their toes But I know that you are a special type of beauty, a rose. © 2010 Jane BryanAuthor's Note
