Lost SoulA Poem by Jane BryanThis is a message in a poem...try to figure it out.A fairy at a garden's gate, The sudden fear of her fate. She sees the wolf with no disguise He hides the plan of utter demise
The fairy waits so longingly To meet her new friend with sudden glee The Wolf, with a plan no one knows To trick the poor girl, he bestows
Can no one see the fairy there? As they open the gate to feel the air They are just as guilty, some believe If those people knew, they would heave
The gate now open, the fairy flies through Not knowing what she is getting herself into She waits before him with a smile on her face He knows that he won't leave any trace
He talks to her, waiting to do the deed Realizing it has become an unknown need She wants him as a friend, that's all I'm sorry to say that she will fall
They walk into the dark woods Covered by the treetop hoods He waits until the middle appears Knowing that she may have fears
She looks at him, her new friend Wondering if the walk will end He looks at her with meaningful eyes The eyes show happiness, yet lies
She doesn't have a chance to ask Why he is wearing a sudden mask He takes her down without a fight Her soul, lost forever, since this lonely night © 2010 Jane BryanAuthor's Note
