The Bus Ride
The dirt brown bus pulls up to the sidewalk bench. Routinely, it picks up a young woman that sits by herself every day at 2:00, and waits for the bus. Today, as it lurches forward, the driver looks over her shoulder to catch a glance at her lone passenger. not noticing the pedestiran walking across the street.
The bus screeches to a halt, only to be too late. The girl stand up and looks out he window.
"Oh my god! NO! Dylan!!!" she screams, scrambling to get off. The bus driver witnesses as the girl picks him up and starts running. Not thinking, she sits for a second, in shock. She realizes that she has to give her a ride.
The bus flew down the road, but the girl was long gone.

"Dylan? Can you hear me?" a wavery voice calls, waking him from deep sleep.
"Dylan!"
He sat up and rubbed his eyes.
"Mom? Mom!" he embraced her with a hug, "Mom! I thought I was dead!"
"Oh, hunny. I was so worried." his mom started to tear up.
"Mom? A girl saved me.. where is she?"
"A girl?" his mom shook her head " I don't know anything about a girl.. you could ask the doctors, I guess."
Later, as he sips his soup in silence, a nurse comes in to check on him.
"Um, excuse me, nurse?" he asked
"Yes?" she looked up from the machine he was hooked up to
"The girl," his voice wavered, "the one who saved me, did she say anything, her name? a phone number? an adress?" he asked, afriad of the answer
" I could look," she smiled politely "But I'm not exactly sure."
"Thanks."
"Yeah. No problem." she turned to leave the room
"Oh, and nurse?"
"Yeah?" she turned around
"How long until I'm outta here?'
"Oh, maybe a couple days or so."
"Thanks." he said.
"Mhmmm." she said, and left his room.

Chelsea was so busy settting up in the backyard that she didn't hear the knock at her door.
He walked into her house, uninvited. He knew it was her, the girl of his past, once he reached the living room, which was filled with pictures and photography things. He could see her from the back window. He laughed to himself, and walked towards her. Her back was to him, and he surpised her. She screamed.
"Dylan! Are you okay? You got hit pretty bad." she hugged him, glad he was alive.
He laughed again, a deep throaty laugh, "Yeah. I wanted to thank you. You saved my life."
She beamed at him" Hey, I'd do anything for you, I love you."
He kissed her. "I love you too."
