A Dream Perhaps?A Story by DelaCruzDo you wonder when your last day on earth would be?
I was in the middle of the rain holding my breath.
The rain poured heavily while I was walking down the path of darkness. All I saw was black and all I sensed was fear. There was a vast array of hideous mountains ahead of me that left me. Then a shadow resembling a man or something appeared and talked to me. I flinched and was petrified at the acidity of its enormous voice and also made me tremble in fear. I was not expecting this so I ran away as fast as I could like an antelope running for its own life avoiding to be eaten by a feral lion. Then the man changed its form into a gruesome monster, bearing long fangs of death, having claws as sharp as knives, wearing an obnoxious smile on its hide, and a face that glowed bright red that looked very visible in the night. Am I going to die? I hope not, because there are people who are waiting for my arrival. As I arrived in the village, I was shocked in terror. Blood, hopelessness, and breathless bodies scattered in the very soil of the earth. All I did was cry and plead for help, but nothing came. I heard footsteps, then a nastily growl slowly overpowering the whistles of the winds. So I ran away again. As I was running away from the village, I caught myself in a cliff. Nowhere to hide, nowhere to go. And the monster was now in front of me. Its roar made my ears deaf and made me tremble. My mind became unconscious of what was happening and I fell on the cliff. Is this my death? And then an eerie red glow appeared in the sky. Is it the sun? Oh yes it is. I opened my eyes like a baby squinting to see if it's real. Waking up in my bed, I stood up and went to my window. Seeing the beauty of the landscapes outside my window and the vaults of heaven, it's really beautiful. Then I saw my people gracefully dancing and giving me their radiant smile. So it was a dream afterall? Is it? © 2019 DelaCruz |
