The poem narrates the April 2013 Baga mysterious and controvertial encounter of the Nigerian military versus Boko Haramists! The innocent citizens suffered a lot. Denied by Nigerian government!

A NIGHT IN HELL!

That Night
Happened to be Friday
Melting to Saturday;
A Friday that fried
A Saturday that en-saddened;
The boarder Baga de-mapped

That Night
Partly Friday
Partly Saturday
Plus mortal shells;
A touch of Hell
A Hell on earth

That Night
2000;4000 bolted homes busted
Busted rooms emptied
Emptied rooms grounded
Grounded stuff burnt
Burnt debris mystified

That Night
Houses went ablaze
Fires fanned and petroled
Escaping occupants rescued
By Man-made metals
Called bullets

That Night
Linked to days that'd talk
On the silenced "L" in "soldiers"
"So die"
"Soul dies"
"L" and "R" removed

That Night
To soldiers confused souls ran
Knighted protectors,remember?
Yet,holes in chests and throats and heads
Bloodly appeared:
Saving the helpless 30s,180,185,187,228!
That Night
Guiltless heels took to the bush
Of blinding darkness
Spiky cactuses
Friendless creatures
Plus hungry fangs

That Night
'Twas crystal clear
One alone could make it;
Aging souls departed
Breast-feds thrown
Pregnancies miscarried

For that Night
Bakano still cries in blood
Coz flood of pains
Floods my tears
Tearing my heart
To pieces I'd go with
