A Poem by bailish
"

This poem is a game about a game.

"

Too many mistakes so I must start over
Rows and columns across the board
Every correct move predetermined
6 can’t fit here, but 3 and 4 can
Nine squares of nine digits each
Simple mistake, so backtrack
The process of elimination
Each single digit unique
Obey the rules of logic
Check all collisions
Count to yourself
It’s just a game
Concentrate
Just a hint
Sudoku
I win!

While it has never been a game that held interest for me, I have seen people dance along the very lines of their sanity as they have worked this or that daily puzzle. It is a game that fits well in the lives of many, as they feel the need to calculate each move - realize the mistakes they have made - and attempt to backtrack to another point. The work itself shows a well-tuned mind, as you have stated that you wrote the lines in a different order, you were able to arrange and edit them to fit what you were working on... sometimes things come to us out of order, but we can still work at putting them into an order we find acceptable - an order we may not expect, that offers a beauty of its own...

QUITE ingenious! Matches the thought of your avatar. You can pick apart anything and create a masterpiece.

Something told me to come and visit you this morning. I'm glad. I enjoyed this very much. Word finds and Crosswords but I've not had any luck at Sudoku yet. Maybe it's all the numbers.

The form is every bit as effective at describing the game as the words are. So clever.

I wonder how people come up with these games . . . it's insanity, the way they addict you until you've gone mad.
