CINDERELLA BLUE

CINDERELLA BLUE

What you gonna do when that big clock on the wall
Begins to chime and you have to leave the ball?
When your carriage is a pumpkin and your horses are all mice;
What you gonna do, will you have think twice?
Cinderella is going to get up and fly away –
That’s all she knows how to do.
I don’t know how you can face another day
When you’re Cinderella blue.

What you gonna do when your sisters are all wed
You’re stuck at home as dreams claw through your head;
Reminding you of a prince from better days
Who stole your heart but you could not make him stay
Cinderella is going to get up and fly away –
That’s all she knows how to do.
I don’t know how you can face another day
When you’re Cinderella blue.

You can cross the world and still be where you are.
They say time heals all wounds but it sure leaves a scar.
I know that you’ve been burned but that was yesterday;
Happily-ever-after comes from living happily today.

What you gonna do when you find you’ll have to choose
Between your slipper-prince and the life you’re scared to lose?
Your glass shoes may show off your royalty;
What you gonna do when they cause your feel to bleed?
Cinderella is going to get up and fly away –
That’s all she knows how to do.
I don’t know how you can face another day
When you’re Cinderella blue.

What you gonna do when you wake up to see
Your life’s not the fairytale that it’s supposed to be?
Your just-right prince never came along;
What you gonna to do when you find that you’ve been wrong?
Cinderella is going to get up and fly away –
That’s all she knows how to do.
I don’t know how you can face another day
When you’re Cinderella blue.

"I know that you've been burned but that was yesterday;
Happily-ever-after comes from living happily today."

No kidding! Could you please my ex that? I think that she continuously waiting for tomorrow to start our relationship. :)

"What you gonna do when you find you'll have to choose
Between your slipper-prince and the life you're scared to lose?"

The answer is love. The answer is ALWAYS love. It is better to be dead and still know love. It is love. Didn't you read Jesus? It is just love! It is love.

"Your just-right prince never came along;
What you gonna to do when you find that you've been wrong?"

What do you always do when you have found that you have been wrong? I have a saying, "Repent and reform, sinners!" That is catchy, and it reminds you of what you are supposed to be doing when you find that you are wrong. You repent and reform. It is not so difficult.

Good write!

It would be cool to be able to hear you sing this someday. Some use a program that lets them record themselves and then paste it here for us to hear. You might want to think about that.

Love your song and the message

What you gonna do, will you have think twice?

These stanza really summed it up perfectly for me:

"What you gonna do when you find you'll have to choose
Between your slipper-prince and the life you're scared to lose?
Your glass shoes may show off your royalty;
What you gonna do when they cause your feel to bleed?
Cinderella is going to get up and fly away
That's all she knows how to do.
I don't know how you can face another day
When you're Cinderella blue.

Your life's not the fairytale that it's supposed to be?
Your just-right prince never came along;
What you gonna to do when you find that you've been wrong?
Cinderella is going to get up and fly away
That's all she knows how to do.
I don't know how you can face another day
When you're Cinderella blue."

" Cinderella Blue" .... like that

As a matter of fact...wish I wrote that !
catchy ... They might just cop that for a new psychology term

Lyrically this works...
curious as to the genre of music you'd put it to

Blesssssssss

I always loved the musical "Into the Woods." First, for its humor and second, for showing us what happens after 'happily ever after.'

What do you expect to do with Cinderlla with her fairy godmother and her evil, step-family. Sounds like trouble to me.
