A Necessary StatementA Chapter by Father Mojo
The following story is a true accounting of events that allegedly occurred in the Spring of 2001.
It is difficult to verify the factual nature of these events due to the fact that the local people who witnessed the events do not speak of them, and if forced, will only offer sketchy and vague descriptions of what occurred. The State of Krajiny Slairvonia, where the incident is said to have happened, was at the time a small, independent nation with very little national oversight or regulation. The region has since largely been absorbed into Romania; although, it still retains a certain level of autonomy to this day.
The official local and national governing bodies that existed for Krajiny Slairvonia have been petitioned, as has the government of Romania, asking for them to release any documents or information relating to the incident in question. They claim to have no such records or documents in their possession. THE OFFICIAL POSITION OF ALL OF THESE GOVERNING BODIES IS THAT THE EVENT NEVER TOOK PLACE AND IF IT DID, THEY HAVE NO OFFICIAL RECORDS OR STATEMENT ABOUT IT. The Official Position is that there is no official position. Some officials in the government of Krajiny Slairvonia have insisted that there is no truth whatsoever to the story which follows, neither is there any truth to the legend that serves as the backdrop to the story. They insist that it is all, the story and legend, the product of the imagination of one man who claims to be the only survivor of the events in question -- a man who admits to being an alcoholic -- who probably murdered his colleagues in an drunken fit, or due to delusions brought on by alcohol withdraw in the isolated region where the events took place. When speaking off the record, however, many officials will admit to either the fact that a group of graduate students from Boston lost their lives in the Krajiny Slairvonian wilderness, to the absolute veracity of the narrative which follows. The story which follows is the alleged eye-witness account of the sole survivor to the events. Names have been changed to protect the families of the victims and the sole survivor, who will remain anonymous. This is his story as he told it to officials one day after regaining consciousness in a hospital in Brasov, Romania. His story is presented to you for your consideration and deliberation. © 2013 Father Mojo |
