LifeA Poem by Sharon KirklandThis poem speaks about a time where life on Earth is slowly fading away and the monstrous things humans do.When things get quiet and night falls, Your greatest enemy lurks behind your walls; Shutting your doors and hiding from the truth, Will get you nothing but others ruth. When you close your eyes and open your mind to something new, You might as well see leaves with dew; Am I just quoting or am I writing, I don’t know; but I will keep on fighting. I feel like a monster with nothing but lies, While my mother sits all night long and cries; Oh how can I continue this life, If someone out there is holding a knife. If I only knew what sense I made, I would try hard not to fade, Behind these walls something stirs, While life on Earth slowly blurs. © 2021 Sharon KirklandAuthor's Note
