HOPE

HOPE

A Poem by b.conmartel

Hope is the killer

The victim of the crime

A shadow in the night

Desperate on a dime

Hope is the feeling

That things had once been right

And people have a shred of light

Even through the darkest night

Hope is a fever

That rages way too young

Takes a life in the night

Before the coming of the sun

Hope is an anvil

Of which I’m meant to sell

The dot of career and failure

Are ringing like a bell

Hope is forever

The dawning smile of a day

A clean slate

To make everything okay

Time is hope for hopeless causes and a cause for things no mortal hand may change. Another fine poem.

Yes hope can lead us down the bad and good roads in a life. I like this poem. Each set-up create new meaning to the the word hope. I like the ending. Poem is excellent. Thank you.

I like the contrast between Hope being a killer and also the dawning smile of a day. I enjoy the light in night metaphor. I think it works very well for your concept. Well written, I like the way it flows. Keep up the good work.
