Rememberies

Rememberies

A Poem by Katie Lynn
"

He was my bestie for 3 years, and then we dated for 3 weeks...

"
The day has just started as she slowly starts to rise
If you look closely you can see her tears form
The only release she has from this loneliness is sleep
Where she is with him in her dreams, together again
Rather together still, for in her dreams its always been
There has never been a time since they met
That he wasn’t the one gently kissing her at sundown
Holding her hand as they walk down the street
The street they live on, out on some country road
The perfect house, not too big, not too small either
When they get home, he never lets her open the door
He always walks closer to the street, keeps her safe
He is the perfect man, she sees him every night
He used to be there everyday too, that was before
She wipes away the tear from her eye slowly
As she climbs out of her bed and sees the card
So simple but still it means so much to her
Happy Valentines Day Katie in young writing
She reaches out and takes it down,
Gently laying it on her desk, next to a picture
A picture of him and her in a booth
From back when he used to love her
She just sighs and puts the card back up,
Hanging off the picture, like she’d forget
The guy that wrote that note with flowers
If that note wasn’t next to his picture
Then she glances up the wall, at memories
The first thing she sees every morning
Are the last things she wants to see
Memories of love and friendship gone bad
