You

You

A Poem by Katie Lynn
"

it was homecoming 2003... I asked one of the most popular guys to the dance... he said no... I wrote this

"
To me, you are perfection,
The rock that distorts my reflection.
Before I can see who I became
Making me feel I've lost the final game.
You are the light that never shined for me,
Making the darkness part of my eternity,
Killing me with the cold black night.
My heart, unlike my mind, doesn't fight.
You are the only one that can do this to me
The only one that can change who I came to be
I love you, but that's not what matters,
I hate you, because my pride is in tatters.
You are sure of your emotions, and your pride
By these emotions and pride my own have died.
My heart is beating softly in your hands,
The time is falling slowly with the sands.
You are original, proof of love
My heart beats soft, like a dove
Loud enough to drown out tears,
To soft to reach your ears.
