Night Clouds

Night Clouds

A Poem by Katie Lynn
"

So, my sophomore year of H/S I had a teacher who gave me a door into my heart by teaching me to write poetry. This was one that he gave me the title and I wrote the poem.

"
Night clouds hide the moon's light
Causing all the children fright.
Hush little baby, it will soon be okay
Now sleep before night becomes day.
Night clouds encase the world in a dark night
Hiding the moon from our sight.
It's getting quiet across the entire Earth
All that's heard is fear's loud birth
Hush little baby, I'll keep you warm
As fear grows and takes new form.
Hush little baby, don't say a word
For your cries will not be heard.
Night clouds are a scary, silent thing
For your fears of darkness bring.
Life is hidden by night clouds
Mothers, father, and children proud.
Hush little baby, mommy's here
I'll protect you from your fear.
