Ocean Deep

Ocean Deep

A Poem by Babieegirl

She was small and reckless,
none like any other.
She chased the waves back and forth,
though losing was it all.

Neither did she know she wasn't chasing it at all.
For why do they say to chase the waves?
When they're really chasing you..
And when they catch your leg.
They pull you through and through.

Off she went that small girl.
Her palms faced the sand.
She pulled back and lifted her head.
And gurgled in her mouth was said.
   She jumped to her feet,
but it was too late.
Another wave had come.

to finish her off and catch her again,
and off she went
too small.
to thin.

Very bittersweet. Something small and precious being taken away.
