My Life As a Book

My Life As a Book

A Poem by {someone:.:unknown}
"

He is my life in other words.

"
What's that small glimmer in the core of your eyes?
a sense of hope i had never seen in anyone else before.
you're someone that had found me in the dark,
and it's time that i realize that i'm done searching for--
for a new love and for a new chapter.

This book of my life had turned page after page,
each thin edge slicing at my skin.
Every chapter i had found ended quickly
and abruptly, there was no happiness there.
A new chapter had opened and unlike before,
this page only brushed against the tip of my finger.

It leaves no pain and it caresses my hands.
You're the new chapter i've waited for,
and the only chapter i'm ending with.
While i read these pages the others before--
those pages begin to fall out of my book.

i can finally rejoice and smile with my life in my arms.
you're the only various pages i need
to complete this puzzled heart that's incomplete.
you're the chapter in my book that started my heart,
and you're the only chapter that will take it apart.
