The Devil's Due

The Devil's Due

A Poem by b4i8islept

Another poem I wrote when I was depressed.

The Devil's Due

For every one step I take forward

I am always pushed back three

What I am given is only for a while

Then it is taken away unceremoniously

Any pleasure that I may stumble upon

Turns into my worst curse of a nightmare

I smile and live in joy I think everlasting

I look around for a second and it is no longer there

Who sits back and plans this evil joy I am given?

Do they think it funny the torture I go through?

The Grand Plan he has formulated for me

It is masterful, I have to give the Devil his due
