A Determined Shake

A Determined Shake

A Poem by Brenda Speegle
"

Mother's will only tolerate so much.

"

Gaping wounds left, no sutures to help mend.

Lacerations cut deeply in her aging skin.

The horrors inflicted by her own children.

      Love, tolerance and understanding.

As mortals, consume everything in sight

And wage war upon brothers to prove their mite,

The mother is empty, no tears left to wipe.

     Deaf ears meet her commanding.

Stop raping nature before it's too late.

Before mother realizes her true mistake,

And frees her skin with a determined shake.

     Be damned, our misunderstanding.
