Remember When?

Today my friend told me he had anxiety and got nervous when he had to encounter people and called himself ugly, so I thought about when I wasn't worried about what people thought.

Remember when we didn't have any concerns

When everything was funny and we laughed about

When our biggest threat was being told to take a nap

Now we worry how we'll never have time for any of that 

Remember when everyone told us we were cute

When people would pinch our cheeks

And told us never to grow up

Now we have self image problems

Remember when we couldn't wait to move out

When we thought life would be easy

And we thought money came from trees

Now we want to be children again

Running away from reality and our fears

Now we sit and reminisce 

About how times used to be

And how we would trade them back in a heart beat
