Voices

A Stage Play by b!tchgirl1618

Act 1:

Scene 1: in the halls of the school

Voice one: shoot her

Voice two: stab her

Voice three: not yet! Wait until she is alone!

Voice two: that’s a good idea!

Voice three: yes I know it is because it’s my idea.

Voice one: Stop it you two! Can’t you see you are confusing the poor kid. We know he must kill her so why wait. It’s what the master wants. The kid knows it, we know it. So why should he wait? All it will do is piss off the master, and we don’t want that. No no no. we must act now.

Brycen; (trying to ignore the voices in his head) Hey babe

Anna: Hi.

Voice one: Now! Just do it now! You have the knife in your pocket! You must stab her now!

Voice two: Stop it! He is no good to the master in jail.

Voice three: Don’t kill her yet… you must get her alone… ask her to your house tonight. Your parents aren’t home, and then kill her there!

Voice two: no! That won’t work. The police will know it was him if its at his house. He should invite her to the park. Then find a private corner and kill her and leave her!

Brycen: (talking inside his head to the voices) no! I won’t kill Anna!  She is my girlfriend and the only person who talks to me, that’s not in my head… she will live. I will keep her alive. That is a promise.

Anna: umm Bryson, are you there? (laughing)

Brycen:  yea babe… Just talking to the voices inside my head.

Anna: (laughing at his joke) ohhh? And what are you telling them?

Brycen:  just how amazingly beautiful you are.

Anna: aww thanks! (Smiling)

(Bell rings signaling class and Brycen and Anna head down different halls to different classes)

Scene 2: in Mr. Tasse’s Math class, 1st period

Mr. Tasse: By now I am sure you all know that you are in Algebra II because that is where the system thinks you need to be. They think wrong. Only 9% of this class is ready to be here, I can tell you this based on your grades on my entrance exam that I gave yesterday. Only one made a 100. Two made a 90.  The rest of you made less than 60%.  I wish to warn you, for those who made 90 or above, this class is for you… everyone else will need to actually work, just to get a 70. Anyone who listens in class and does their homework should do ok. But anyone who slacks will fail, of that I can promise. I hope that you all enjoy learning Algebra II and that you can one day say “yes I know Algebra. It was hard. I hate it I will never do it again.” But until you know algebra you can’t say that can you? Well, I plan on teaching you, no matter how hard or easy that is.

Voice one: yes let the old fart drone on. You deserve any school work that you get. You were put here to kill that girl. Not date her. Not love her. To kill her. So whatever miserable school work you have, you are on your own.

Voice 3: maybe we should help him. That way he will have more time to plot to kill Anna. Not having to focus on his useless school work.

Voice two: but I don’t know algebra. So someone else will have to help him.

(Brycen is sitting at his desk… hands on the table, fiddling with a pencil, and starting to get aggravated.)

Brycen:  (talking inside his head) SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! I don’t need help with math so don’t bother. Your master, can suck whatever it is that he sucks. I don’t know and I don’t care. I just don’t want to help him anymore. I refuse. I will not serve him ever again. And I will not kill Anna.

Voice one: this is not good, the master will kill you. Then he will kill us. Then he will kill your girlfriend.

Voice two: oh dear. This isn’t going to end well.

Voice three: how will we tell the master? How can we?

Brycen: (talking inside his head) I will tell your master myself. I don’t care! He can’t kill me and I won’t let him kill Anna. So deal with it. I hope he kills you. Then you can get out of my head.

Scene 3: Mr. Badam’s English Class, 2nd Period

Mr. Badam:  Welcome to English Class. I know that all of you are excited to be in English III. I am excited to see that all of you have made it to this level of English. Also I know that today is only the second day of school, but I am hoping to see where all of you are. After all, I need to know where to start. I am going to hand out a test; I want everyone to do their best.  This test will be graded but the grade will not count.

(Mr. Badam starts passing out the test. Brycen is sitting in the back row, he has his head down, and Mr. Badam hands him a test. Brycen takes a pencil out of his backpack and gets so work)

Voice one: Stop that! Stop this stupid test and start planning.

Brycen: (speaking to the voices inside his head) no I have enrolled in this school, I plan on finishing school, even if it kills me.

(Brycen finishes his test without interruption from the voices)

You've gotta finish this. Like completely. Then pitch it somewhere. Lovely premise. It's reality to some.

I like where the story is going but then again I like crazy. The only thing I could possibly suggest is maybe a paragraph setting the scenes and a description of the characters.

Not bad kid, I can see this clearly. This kid may be fucked up but it makes for a cool story line. Not sure if he is schizo or some sort of other worldly being sent to earth to kill the girl. I liked it kid, not bad at all. However maybe give each voice it's own personality so they don't all run together.

Nice story. I can actually imagine the whole being staged really good. I just wish you could remove s scene or two because the last two dont really help in plot development. (Till now). Curious to read more. Probably, I am wrong and all the scenes are significant.

I like the story in the stage play. I'm not a expert on stage play. I like the conversation and the interesting situation in the stage play.
