Title to be decided

This is my first attempt at writing any sort of story outside of school. I have no doubt there are numerous grammatical errors and I would appreciate it if you could point those out. Please let me know about anything that worked, or more importantly didn't work. This is supposed to be the first chapter of a book idea I've had stuck in my head for a while.
