Man of Many Frames

Man of Many Frames

A Poem by Jerisson
"

Something I wrote up for an Open Mic based off one line stuck in my head. The theme was empowering oneself.

"

I've lived myself to many titles,

many names,

many claims

to my own being.

But even seeing my past

through a memory as foggy

as my lenses on a rainy day,

my senses remain clear on several things.

The tides of my life have gone

back and forth,

each side of the scale shifting

with every moment of growth

I now live through the basic principles of balance,

you shall only receive in equal amount to what you give.

I observe my surroundings with a sort of alchemical vision,

envisioning the actions of myself and others, and consequences of such.

Shadows will be cast upon your moments of darkness,

and light will shine down on your triumphs,

and for those who say sorrow surrounds their efforts,

never lose hope, and you'll surely win the fight.

I've walked both paths, looking for myself,

and still there are pieces to go

And while on many occasions, I lose my way,

It's with those experiences I gain something to show.

The ignorant child,

losing his youth to the blood and tears

of his own family

as he innocently jumped his way towards the victory pole.

The hopeless romantic,

making daydreams of what seems to be reality

But woken up ,

by the shattering of his own sanity.

The isolated boy,

brought into the darkness of others wrongdoings,

he bonded with those with him,

and created his first hopes under the stars of Guhrel.

The creative designer,

embodying the worlds of his youth,

into images of his timeline,

using the digital canvas of his choosing.

The naive intellectual,

who became a student of the world,

using his own capabilities

and the help of those around him.

The rebel youth,

who mustered the courage and knowledge,

to break the chains placed onto him by others,

and several placed by his very being.

The deceiving joker,

who tugged the strings of a soul's instrument

Playing them into his own melody

and into his own desires.

The lazy genius,

who escaped into his worlds,

tired of the one he lived in

and forever looking for answers that stood in his face.

The everlasting gamer,

playing the games like a piano,

each key moving instinctively,

a portrayal of his mindset.

The shy socialite,

afraid of the unknown,

but willing to embrace it,

with others around him.

The blind dreamer,

that reaches to create

digital works of 60 frames,

virtually perfection.

I am all these things,

and yet I am nothing,

nothing compared to what I can,

and will be.

I am but a mere young man,

unknowing to the world

that dares not recognize me.

But with balance in soul,

knowledge in mind,

and health in body,

I'll reach the finish line,

get the girl,

reach the stars,

create a masterpiece,

learn of the world,

break my own limits,

play the cards to my content,

think resourcefully,

enjoy real life as much as it's digital graces,

make everlasting connections,

and construct the interactive experience of a lifetime,

with the mere goal to live, learn, and be happy.
