Bloodline

Bloodline

A Poem by Jerisson
"

Never dedicated to my ethnicity, and so here it is.

"
My blood is Dominican
as in Domination,
for we brought up our own emancipation
against the Spanish

Now I am famished
for a revolution,
in which the evolution of thought
is brought,

Where the minds of youth
go outside the box,
to unlock the gifts they've been
given to wield
since birth
on Earth.

And for what it's worth,
I'm a man of my word.

If i say I will see you
after I'm reincarnated as a bird,
you will see a brown-eyed bird
land one day on your chair.

But there's no need to fear.
I'm not here to bring disorder,
but to bring a new form of order
in which there is peace,
and the violence will cease...
