RunA Poem by ruthi wanted to be a runner since middle and in high school, but my mom always said no. There was never time and she didnt want anything bad to happen, i guess she still doesnt trust me. i was pretty fast but now i am just a lazybuttAll I have ever wanted was to run,
to feel the heat from the sun.
To run with such passion,
no matter the fashion,
but I soon realized that was impossible,
I wanted to be unstoppable.
I knew i could be the best,
faster than the rest.
Mom, you took away my dream,
once you said I couldnt join in,
I cried so much and wanted to leave,
your words i couldn't believe.
Now you ask me why I'm not the same,
sitting around just being so lame.
I see how strong they have become,
and they always ask me to join them and run.
I feel trapped in a bubble of security,
and you ask why I feel this insecurity.
I want to run far from here,
and your words never to hear,
Time is rapidly passing by,
and soon i will say good-bye.
