But I love him...

But I love him...

A Poem by ruth

Can you see me?
Bruised everywhere?
Several scars?
my face and body swollen and purple,
cuts on my arms,
blood painted the floor and walls.
a scarlett, red, beautiful yet painful color.
my eyes watery, so full of tears.
An odor of sadness and fear.
i can barely stand up and walk,
for my body aches too much.
He did transform into a grotesque monster,
only for a while.
but i still love him.
its not the first time he has done this to me.
and in the hospital i have been before.
after all the screams and punches,
all his insults and his issues.
but i still love him.
you might not understand,
i love him too much...

I've always found this topic both scary and interesting, very good take on it. Poems like these are tough to write- but you did a good job of it. Very emotional.

I was hoping that this was not about you....but now I think it is !! Not good.......don,t stay there.....it won't get better. Life is too good to put up with that, even if it is only once in a while. Move away from it and taste the other side....it's much sweeter.
Thanks for sharing.....if you need a shoulder.......use mine !!

It is so very hard to break away from a cycle of abuse, but when one can do so, a life is perhaps saved, and certainly saved from damage. It is all a quest for power and control....no love is worth what it does to the other!
Your descriptions are vivid and very painful!
It is you....have courage and get help - I have been there too!!
