Outside the rodeo boy

Outside the rodeo boy

A Poem by Azsa Wild

The thunder is calming me down
When the rain hits the tin
And she has her laces loose
Inspiring my cheeky grin
A cowboy on the stack
Makes me smirk
We all make love here and when the sweat subsides
The stars are smiling at us
We were all wondering when and who we were gonna be
Once we get out of here
I was always on the outside of the rodeo
The bull knew I had better places to go
These boots were worn out and always wet
Even on bone dry desert walks
Cactus flowers moonlight sun
These city folk don't know that light
They'll never live this life
I was always on the outside of the rodeo
Suited up in steel and embroidery one last show
The other kids knew I had places to go...
