All limbs and laughter

All limbs and laughter

A Story by Azsa Wild

I have a soul, a heart a mind of my own
it is a feeling and it happens to be my home
That those I love with my heart
Are at a reasonable distance
And that feeling of hope
Overwhelms me

I've never been so grateful YOU love me
I've never been so grateful YOU are in my blood
We've come so far from the strangers we once were
We've all become a family by blissful acclaim

Remember daily remember
Where we come from
Count the fingers and toes
Count the limps all together

I have a soul, a heart a mind of my own
it is a feeling and it happens to be my home
That those I love with my heart
Are at a reasonable distance
And that feeling of hope
Overwhelms me

You'll never buy unconditional love
Who could put trust on a shelf and admire it
Hug the ones you love and let the gratitude in
Sometimes we need to take life seriously
Because not every one has the same limps
There's experiences you're paper can't afford

I'm not into overly sunshiny messages, but you really lured me in with this one. I honestly couldn't believe how much I was getting into the swing of this optimistic little ditty, written with a sense of spontaneity & simplicity. I think expressing love in simple terms is one of the most beautiful things, but it often comes out tortured to the cliches of the genre. I love how this is a million miles away from most poems expressing gleeful love & appreciation of people & life (something I can barely believe in, so it's a miracle you roped me in!) (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
