PresleyBlues

A Poem by Azsa Wild
"

Listening to Elvis.

"
I'm laying here ... listening to the king
Soothes me like the whiskey (I miss)
Somebody is out there waiting
For my voice
Telling me I have a choice
To get up and out again

I've got the Presley blues
I still need a pair
Of blue suede shoes
I'm terrified of the talent I possess
Battling as if I never had it
There is a path to choose
So I'll feed the hound dog
And find peace in the valley

Looking back
Memories

Who knows what I have to gain
On aboard that mystery train

Looking back
All shook up

Who knows if I'll ever move this pelvis the same
Or buy a gun just to shoot the tv over and over

Looking ahead
Way Down
I am prepared

They tell me I can't tell me I won't
I'll just smile and say
Don't

Looking ahead
Que Sera Sera

There's still a crown waiting for me
If I'm just a Prince
I can still stand by the king
