Only loveA Poem by Azsa WildListening to Stevie... as usual inspired.
There was smoke
It pillowed the town I tried to feel the fire All I felt was ice An he melted me I melted him But all that was left was an ocean So i swam and swam Til I found dry land An I smelt smoke So I looked for fire again Only love has that ever lasting sting That warmth of a thousand trees An a distinct taste In the bottom of your soul Like some angel that whispers 'I'm never letting go' There was fire After many traces of ash After a few smokey eyes I would eventually see The fire that was built in front of me Some of us collect branches If only for a very short time Some of douse others in spirits Every wise one knows It's all about patience it's all about persistence An no two fires burn alike So feel the flames even as they fade away Rub the ashes in and wash them away Allow the river to take the wood a stray Never take it for granted or keep your light at bay Only love has that ever lasting sting That warmth of a thousand trees An a distinct taste In the bottom of your soul Like some angel that whispers 'I'm never letting go' An he whispers it to me An I whisper it to him Feeling the fire That burns within Only love knows how to heat a heart © 2018 Azsa Wild |
