On the dark street

On the dark street

A Poem by LA Waning
"

A Romeo & Juliet of sorts

"
I draw you closer as we near the ledge
You and me babe lets go over the edge
We'll spin and we will dive
While kissing we'll fall
In the wind we will thrive
The end will not matter at all
With you by my side I felt like a king
Many did hate our love and our pride
They would not let me take you as my bride
They would deny us our love and so we've lost everything

Except each other
We hold each other
I can see your hair
Long locks whipping
Spirals in air as we fall
I start to wonder
From the tears on your face
Rising and shining above
How much you loved me
If you loved me at all

Will it feel as though the ground has absorbed us?
Will it be as though our fall has absolved us?

It won't matter you cried
On this night that we died
I'll finally know
On the dark street below
