I Wander, I Fly

I Wander, I Fly

A Poem by LA Waning

I wander among bleak and onyx monoliths set into the top of a hill
I walk along a road set with bones and paved in the flesh of men
I stride across plains of rosy quartz and ruby glittering prismatic
I travel through caves where the walls are carved as eldritch gods
I plod through a steaming marsh belching bright neon gasses
I sneak within a metal pyramid in the heart of unknowable lands
I swim through a sea filled with gigantic tentacled majesties
I fly through a void sprinkled with rocks, with life, with stars

I like it for the imagery and the show of intelligence. I just have to wonder, was there a reason to be writing this besides stretching the old knowing brain muscles? I thought it might become a journey to a place, or a journey within a person, or something. Would have liked to know the purpose of so much travelling.
